EMIT3D Explorers Program.
Springboard your summer with impactful learning.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
In 2026, we are opening a limited number of spots in our research program for high school students for the first time. Our faculty work full-time in the domains they teach: clinical 3D imaging, medical AI, imaging IT, and computer science education. Across four weeks, students engage with interconnected topics spanning anatomy, imaging physics, artificial intelligence, 3D visualization, and systems thinking, a combination no single institution could offer alone.
The faculty here could not have been assembled by design. They came together because they believed in this. In 2025, several enrolled their own children in the inaugural cohort. Those students presented at the BMES Annual Meeting. They are now the program's teaching assistants.

MENTORS & FACULTY
Our faculty bring together clinical 3D imaging lab directors, the president and a vice president of a global medical AI company, a professor who co-created one of the most widely adopted computing curricula in the US, a director of imaging IT innovation at a leading academic medical center, a practicing clinician turned anatomy faculty, a managing director of a clinical AI evaluation lab, and a generative AI director who previously helped architect foundational recommendation systems. Each arrived at the intersection of medicine, imaging, and AI from a completely different direction, representing a convergence that could not be assembled by design.
